Jade helps you to release feelings of guilt and brings instead feelings of genuine care and nurturing, friendship, and harmony. It also inspires new sincere romantic love while fostering trust and fidelity. Jade is a protective stone, especially for children and the elderly, as well as during travel. The crystal dispels fear and anxiety, provides safety, and protects from bullying, deception, intimidation and abuse. Description: Jade is a mineral used as jewelry or for ornaments. It is typically green, although may be yellow or white. Jade can refer to either of two different silicate minerals : jadeite or nephrite. The higher the iron content, the greener the color. Jadeite (Burmese Jade or Guatemalan Jade, also known as “Imperial Jade”) is a more precious kind of Jade, only occurring in metamorphic rocks and only found in fewer than 12 places worldwide. Jadeite is a silicate of sodium and aluminium in the pyroxene group of minerals. Translucent emerald-green Jadeite is the most prized variety. Jadeite has many color variations including blue, brown, red, black, dark green, lavender and white. The rarest Jadeite is described as “moss entangled in melting snow”. Nephrite (Canadian Jade or New Zealand Jade) can be found in a creamy white to light yellow form (known in China as “mutton fat” Jade) as well as in a variety of light green, grays, to rich deep mossy green colors. Nephrite is a silicate of calcium, magnesium, and iron-rich amphibole minerals tremolite or actinolite, in the amphibole group of minerals. Jade is well known for its ornamental use in East Asian, South Asian, and Southeast Asian art. It is commonly used in Latin America, such as Mexico and Guatemala. The use of jade in Mesoamerica for symbolic and ideological ritual was influenced by its rarity and value among pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures, such as the Olmecs, the Maya, and other ancient civilizations of the Valley of Mexico. Jade was considered to be the “imperial gem” of China, and was used to create many utilitarian and ceremonial objects, from indoor decorative items to jade burial suits. In the history of the art of the Chinese empire, Jade had a special significance comparable with that of gold and diamonds in the West. The gemstone was used for the finest objects and cult figures, and for grave furnishings for high-ranking members of the imperial family. Burmese Jade (Jadeite), with its bright emerald-green, pink, lavender, orange and brown colors was imported from Burma to China only after about 1800. In Japan, Jade was a symbol of wealth and power and was used for bracelets. Leaders also used the crystal in rituals. It is the natural stone of Japan. The earliest use of Jade in Japan can be traced back about 7,000 years. Jade has also been used since ancient times for furnishings, jewelry, art, sculpture, daggers, and ritual items in Korea, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Mesoamerica, Canada, Russia, and Mongolia. CLEANSING AND CHARGING Be sure to cleanse your Burmese Jade when received, and charge with your own energy and intentions. Use your feather fan to waft over it the smoke of purifying incense. Use sound vibrations from a singing bowl, bells, or tingsha chimes while quickly and carefully passing through the flame of a white, black, pink or green candle. Place in a (preferably Selenite or Clear Quartz, just not any kind of metal) bowl on top of a bed of dead sea salt and leave soaking in the moonlight for at least four hours. Remove from the bowl, rinse for 30 seconds in (ideally natural, like a stream or in the rain) running water, then gently dry with a cloth (BE CAREFUL with stones that may easily scratch). Hold in your left hand (if wearing for receiving intentions) or right hand (if wearing for emitting intentions) and meditate your intentions and energy onto the stones for half an hour. Alternatively, cleanse by smudging then holding under running water (or leaving out in rainwater) for at least 30 seconds, dry, and gently place in a bed of sea salt on a windowsill after sunset for a few hours. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. Because your gemstones can absorb negative energy, avoid allowing others to touch or handle them and be sure to cleanse regularly. Recharge as needed by placing in the sunlight or moonlight for a few hours, or by burying in the earth for a day or two. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. Do not use heat or steam to clean. Avoid prolonged exposure to water or sunlight. Avoid contact with hard surfaces, and take care not to subject to hard bumps or sharp blows.
