There are typically 12 full moons per year, one per month. But every 2 or 3 years (on average about once every 33 months), there is a 13th full moon within the year. During the full Blue Moon is a time for reflection rather than action, and planning how to best navigate moving forward. Gather green (to manifest your intentions), yellow (to invite new career opportunities), orange (to encourage your ambition) and brown (to amplify your resources) candles. Also gather Anointing Oil, Blue Moon Incense or an Intention Incense, Magic Ink, paper, and a fire safe bowl. Make a warm cup of Blue Moon Tea. Find a quiet private space to reflect. Anoint then light your candles, then light your incense. Get comfortable and take three deep breaths. Ask the gods/goddesses to be with you and watch over you. Ask the full Blue Moon to lend you her power and help you. BLUE MOON TEA INGREDIENTS Rooibos – Rooibos leaves are used to make an herbal tea that has been popular in Southern Africa for generations. The tea has a sweet, slightly nutty, earthy flavor, similar to yerba mate or tobacco.  Rooibos tea does not contain caffeine and has low tannin levels compared to black tea or green tea. It is usually prepared in the same manner as black tea, sometimes with the addition of milk, lemon, sugar, or honey. It is also served as lattes, cappuccinos or iced tea. Do not use in excess.) Lavender Flowers – Lavender is a nervine, good for nervous headaches, nervous tension and nausea. The magical intentions of Lavender include protection from evil, asperging, mindfulness, true love, fertility, fairy magic, devotion, serenity, grace, forgiveness, spiritual connectivity, happiness, healing grief and guilt, tranquility, purification, peace, blessings, cleansing, gentleness, harmony, meditation, memory, lifting spirits, and calm. Chamomile Flowers – Chamomile tastes and smells divine, it is relaxing, soothing and cleansing, beautiful for sleep and deep relaxation. It is used as a mild sedative and is good for insomnia as well as many other nervous conditions. If you have any kind of anxiety or stress, chamomile can help to sooth your stresses away. The magical intentions of Chamomile include peace, love, tranquility, purification, protection from unwanted energy and unwanted entities, removing spells and breaking hexes cast against you, attractiveness to the opposite sex, finding a lover, releasing a loved one, releasing emotional pain or feelings of loss, releasing anger, dreamwork, healing, reducing stress, releasing emotional baggage, harmony, happiness, sleep, meditation, and calming. Blue Cornflower – Blue Cornflower is a colorful addition to tea blends. Say out loud, “In my future, I will let go of [read your list].” Light the paper with the green candle’s flame and quickly put it in the fire safe bowl. Then on a separate sheet of paper, write down your new goals and intentions for the future. Take the time to create a detailed step-by-step plan for how to achieve these goals, starting with the most easily obtainable ones. Starting with your easiest goals to achieve, and then actually doing them, will provide a sense of accomplishment and encourage you to move forward toward achieving your slightly more difficult ones. Say out loud, “In my future, I will [read your list].” Spend more time meditating upon the candle flames and visualizing yourself manifested in the future life that you envision. Fold your list of hopes, keep it, and tuck it away somewhere that only you can find it and you can revisit it. When ready, snuff out your candles. Relight them each night of the full Blue Moon. Set a clear bowl of distilled water outside or in a windowsill facing the moon after dusk. Bring it indoors and away from the light of the sun before dawn. Do this each of the three nights of the full moon to charge your moon water. When you’re ready to relax, enjoy a hot herbal bath.
