A wonderful pair of sterling silver Mikimoto pearl earrings from the Retro era, c1950! Made of sterling silver the earrings feature a cluster of eight lustrous akoya pearls amongst artful leaf motifs. The beautiful quality akoya pearls radiate with a spectacular lustre, they are a subtle creamy white colour with silvery pink overtones, ranging in size from 6.20mm to 7mm the largest. The wonderful mid-century design features angled leaves which have a 3 dimensional look with lovely textured detail. A screw-back fitting is attached to the back, where there is a stamp "SILVER" and signed with Mikimoto's signature "M" in a clamshell frame.
