Rune stones are stones that have been carved with runes, which are symbols that are part of an ancient Norse and Germanic system of divination and spiritual guidance. Runes can be carved into many materials, including stone, wood, bone, shells, and paper, and can also be engraved onto metals like silver and gold. According to the sagas, runic inscriptions held magical powers. They are used for divination, gaining insight, making decisions, and tapping into intuition. With the aid of inscriptions, you could predict the future, protect a person against misfortune, imbue objects with different qualities, gain someone’s attention and love, or you could write down conjurations, curses, and spells. When rune casting, each symbol has multiple interpretations. It is important to let your intuition guide you. A simple cast is the three rune layout. Shake your bag of runes, then randomly select three runes one at a time and place them on the table in front of you (or randomly select 3 cards from a shuffled rune deck, and place them in the same manner as you would the stones). Rune one should be on the right, rune two in the middle, and rune three on the left (so they would be in the order 3, 2, 1). Rune 1 represents the overview, or your situation. Rune 2 represents a challenge. And Rune 3 represents a possible course of action that could be taken. Runes can also be used in ritual. One or several runes can be placed on the altar before ritual working. Carrying a rune as a talisman or amulet can bring the energy of the symbol and remind you of your intentions. A rune stone can be held in the hand during meditation. Rose Quartz, the stone of unconditional love, is perfect for encouraging self-love and harmony in relationships and friendships. Useful for comfort in times of grief or unrest, Rose Quartz dispels negativity and brings deep feelings of inner peace. It will help you find love for others, the willingness to forgive, and the strength to persist and fight for what you love. Description: Quartz is a hard, crystalline mineral composed of silica. The word Quartz is derived from a Czech term meaning “hard”. And the Ancient Greeks referred to Quartz as Krustallos, derived from a word meaning “icy cold”. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth’s continental crust, behind feldspar. There are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are classified as gemstones. Pure Quartz, traditionally called rock crystal or Clear Quartz, is colorless and transparent or translucent. Since antiquity, varieties of quartz have been the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewelry and hardstone carvings, especially in Eurasia. Quartz has been used since prehistoric times for making tools. In Europe and the Middle East, the different varieties of quartz were most commonly used for various types of jewelry and hardstone carving, including engraved gems and cameo gems, rock crystal vases, and extravagant vessels. Highly valued objects continued to be produced from Quartz crystal until the mid-19th century, when it largely fell from fashion except in jewelry. CLEANSING AND CHARGING Be sure to cleanse your Rose Quartz when received, and charge with your own energy and intentions. Use your feather fan to waft over it the smoke of purifying incense. Use sound vibrations from a singing bowl, bells, or tingsha chimes while quickly and carefully passing through the flame of a pink candle. Place in a (preferably Selenite or Clear Quartz, just not any kind of metal) bowl on top of a bed of dead sea salt and leave soaking in the moonlight for at least four hours. Remove from the bowl, rinse for 30 seconds in (ideally natural, like a stream or in the rain) running water, then gently dry with a cloth (BE CAREFUL with stones that may easily scratch). Hold in your left hand (if wearing for receiving intentions) or right hand (if wearing for emitting intentions) and meditate your intentions and energy onto the stones for half an hour. Alternatively, cleanse by smudging then holding under running water (or leaving out in rainwater) for at least 30 seconds, dry, and gently place in a bed of sea salt on a windowsill after sunset for a few hours. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. Because your gemstones can absorb negative energy, avoid allowing others to touch or handle them and be sure to cleanse regularly. Recharge as needed by placing in the sunlight or moonlight for a few hours, or by burying in the earth for a day or two. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. Do not use heat or steam to clean. Avoid prolonged exposure to water or sunlight. Avoid contact with hard surfaces, and take care not to subject to hard bumps or sharp blows.
