The 1st Root Chakra (Muladhara) is located at the base of the spine in the tailbone area and is represented by the color red (in our Seven Chakras Bracelet, represented by Red River Jasper gemstones). The meaning of the Root Chakra is physical identity, stability, survival, and grounding. A blocked Root Chakra can manifest as physical issues like arthritis, constipation, bladder or colon problems; and emotional insecurity about finances and basic needs, a low sense of well-being, fear of instability, and lack of purpose. When the Root Chakra is open, we feel physically and emotionally grounded, independent and secure. CLEANSING AND CHARGING YOUR CRYSTAL GEMSTONE JEWELRY Once cleansed and charged with your own energy and intentions, do not allow anyone else to wear or handle your jewelry. Be sure to cleanse your Seven Chakras Bracelet when received. Use your feather fan to waft over it the smoke of purifying incense. Use sound vibrations from a singing bowl, bells, or tingsha chimes while quickly and carefully passing through the flame of a white candle. Place in a (preferably clear quartz or selenite… just not any kind of metal) bowl on top of a bed of dead sea salt and leave soaking in the moonlight for at least four hours. Remove from the bowl, rinse for 30 seconds in (ideally natural, like a stream or in the rain) running water, then gently dry with a cloth (BE CAREFUL with stones that may easily scratch). Hold in your left hand (if wearing for receiving intentions) or right hand (if wearing for emitting intentions) and meditate your intentions and energy onto the stones for half an hour. Alternatively, cleanse by smudging then holding under running water (or leaving out in the rain) for at least 30 seconds, dry, and gently place in a bed of sea salt on a windowsill after sunset for a few hours. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. Recharge your gemstones as needed by placing in the sunlight or moonlight for a few hours, or by burying in the earth for a day or two.
